A simplified translation of the official Soviet military manual published after designer Nikolay Makarov produced a the pistol we know as the Pistolet Makarova. Due to the simplicity of the pistol the soviet union emphasized standardized training and maintenance, which is exactly where the operator’s manual comes in.
This 40 page guidebook, which was first produced by the Soviet Ministry of Defense, was intended to assist soldiers in rapidly learning a sidearm that was made to be straightforward, dependable, and low maintenance.
This manual provides information on how Soviet soldiers were taught to handle one of the most popular handguns of that time and acts as both a useful manual and a piece of Cold War history.
